Rawai Beach












      Rawai is very famous for its shells and a site of a Chao Lay or sea Gipsy villages. A lot of small open air seafood restaurants, bungalows and shell handicraft shops are located along the beach promenade. The waters are good, but not suitable for swimming. Rawai is 7 kms.west of Chalong Circle, and also has a shell museum (located opposite the beach) that is worth a visit.












River Kwai













      River Kwai is in Kanchanaburi where is the one of the most beautiful provinces of Thailand, with a very delightful landscape. It is already well-known among War-historians and movie-buffs as the site of the notorious "Death Railway" and the "Bridge over the River Kwai" and among archaeologists for its Neolithic burial grounds. Yet, the province also has numerous other places of interest for the nature loving visitor who wants to spend longer time here. Kanchanaburi is about 128 kilometers west of Bangkok approximately 2 1/2 hours ride by car over a good road. The town of Kanchanaburi is located at the point where two tributaries, the Kwai Noi and Kwai Yai (which have their source in the Ta-Nao-Si Range) meet and from the Mae-Khong River.











Wat Arun Temple











      This temple is considered to be the most famous and photographed temple in Bangkok, with a 250-foot-high tower decorated with thousands of tiny pieces of colored glass and Chinese porcelain. The best place to view/photograph Wat Arun is from the opposite side of the river. (It is located on the west side of the Chao Praya River while Wat Pho and the Grand Palace are on the east side of the Chao Praya.)














Golden Mount












     It is a part of Wat Saket Temple and also known as Phukao Thong. Golden Mount is located on the only hill in Bangkok which is an artificial hill just outside the city walls. Going to the top of the hill by climb the 318 steps stairway give visitors magnificent panoramic views across Rattanakosin Island.












Chiang Rai












     The northernmost province of Thailand, Chiang Rai is situated on the Kok River basin 416 metres above sea level. With an area of some 11,678 square kilometres. It is about 785 kilometres from Bangkok. Mostly mountainous, it reaches the Mae Khong River to the north and borders on both Myanmar and Laos.












Wat Phra Mahathat










       This temple, north of the former Grand Palace, was the ritual center of the city. Its date is uncertain. What we see today is a 1663 restoration that was done by order of King Prasat Thong. This monastery was the seat of the Supreme Patriarch of the forest dwelling sect. The major construction was the high pagoda or prang which was destroyed by Burmese invaders. When the government undertook to restore all Ayutthaya ruins, the Fine Arts Department excavated the pagoda and found a buried treasure chest containing many valuables.












Pak Khlong Talat












      This is Bangkok’s flower market; it is similar to many flower markets around the world in terms of having lots of flowers. However, this is an open air market and there are piles and piles of beautiful orchids, lotus blossoms, roses and other flowers.











Dusit Zoo  










     It is the first zoo and public park in Thailand, opened to pubric in 1938. The zoo was a part of Dusit Royal Garden called Kao Din Wana, located near the heart of Bangkok. The zoo area is around 47 acre and has variety of animal, more than 1,600 Species. Dusit zoo is a popular place for family with kids. There are many activities that travellers can enjoy in this zoo such as picnic, canoeing, boat cycling, etc. Moreover, there is an Air-Raid Shelter used in World War II.

Located 258 nautical miles south of Bangkok, and some 84 kilometres east of the provincial capital.Samui's best beaches line the northern and eastern coasts, the most popular being Hat Chaweng and Hat Lamai, where generally attractive accommodation can be found. Other beaches include Hat Choeng Mon, Hat Mae Nam in the north and Hat Na Thon, the island's major seafront settlement where shops, restaurants and tour agencies are concentrated.












Krabi's Mountain









       This coastal province covers an area of 4,709 square kilometers and is located 814 kilometres south of Bangkok. Krabi’s major attractions are located largely along its extensive coastline, which contains several well-known beaches and bays, and numerous offshore tropical islands. Krabi's mountainous physical geography is broken by highlands and plains on the mainland; the provincial administration also covers more than 130 large and small islands in the Andaman Sea.












Bang Pu Seaside Park - Samut Prakarn, Thailand











      Most people in Bangkok often travel at Bang Poo seaside park in Samut Prakarn province. This seaside park is the nearest from Bangkok, 37 km. away by driving along Sukhumvit Road. Travelers can also visit and enjoy its beautiful scenery. There are gardens, restaurants and a pier. Early evening is the best time for visitors to see a beautiful sunset as you look out across the Gulf of Thailand. Between October and February, the flocks of seagulls always migrate to the pier area and it is the popular place to take photographs.












Koh Lanta Island












     Koh Lanta Yai (Big Lanta Island) is the larger of the two islands in the Koh Lanta district. It is off the southern coast of Krabi and less well-known than Koh Phi Phi. Most lodging is one-story bungalows (whether budget or resort) located on the beach with sand paths to the beach. While other islands have a reputation for the nightlife and shopping, Koh Lanta is a more mellow, quieter island where you will spend your time exploring beaches, rivers, and caves. While Koh Lanta was affected by the 2004 tsunami, almost all businesses are back in operation.









Elephant Park










     Sangduen Chailert (Lek) founded this conservation project in the early 1990s as a sanctuary for elephants that had previously been employed for logging or performing. While there are lots of other elephant camps and parks, these elephants were rescued from horrible working conditions and allowed to live in natural family groups. Tours include stories of the elephants’ rescues as well as interactions (such as feeding and bathing) with the elephants!
